For batteries, I've had some luck with these in my new feather using 3 18v Dewalts-

We have the pooooooowwwwwwwwwwwer, batteries finally turned up

Only problem now is should we go with 4 packs @ 33volt or 5 packs @ 26.4volt, guess it comes down to either longer battery life or Mute going at silly speed, guess 33volts might be fun.

Go for the lower voltage. You just can't use the speed unless you are in a car park.

Those LiFePo4 cells of 2650 mAh, 60A cont, 120A burst

Depending on gearratio and wheelsize... But lets take an old school UK drivetrain. 8 wheels 6-1 gearratio.

@ 8S = 22 km/h 5P = 13.5 Ah 300A cont, 600A burst
@10S= 28 km/h 4P= 10.6 AH 240A cont, 480A burst.


I would even think of dropping to 6S. Still a good speed 17 km/h , with 5P you have 10 cells in spare then.

Mute rebuild is still going good, currently sitting at 94kg with both bottles full and just batteries and wires to go in, getting close to having a working bot again


Speedo ended up under the side pot, we were just a little short on space for it to fit into centre section

Finally, another front hinged flipper is back

looks so tidy inside, are you still having the rear flippers?

Yep still got the rear flipper too, the angle bracket at the back holds mute rear valve for the back flipper.
Will get a bit fully with the motor wires etc but not to much.
You should have seen the orginal gas system with hydraulic valves, the whole rear of mute was full, if we dropped a pin in never saw it for weeks until we stripped stuff out.
Below picture was with bits stripped out and the orange lump was the original gas tank, no were near the 4kg we carry now
