Thread: Featherweight Database

    let me get nostelgic now

    Back in the Day of series 2 a fresh faced first time robot , I built my Biohazard esq feather. 90cm long 40cm wide and only 5cm tall weighed at 5kg powered by 3 electric screwdrivers.

    7years on I finally dug it out to strip and chuck out when I thought why not fight him against GiAnto?
    so me and my brother started the rumble a 7 year old 0.5mm steel shelf bot vs my horizontal spinner
    3 big hits taking huge chunks out of my poor robot but amazingly was still running, even better I turned it and rolled GiAnto over and actually killed it.
    wow I thought that was impressive. Knowing in the back of my mind that GiAnto isnt one of the top feathers Ive decided to give her one last go and finally bring her to an event.

    Ill post some pics up soon
    should be interesting
    can a 7 year old robot actually survive nowadays

    I really do hope you add a tail or something onto G3, it would make a really good flipper if it concentrates the flipping force into flipping your opponent, and not yourself
    For those of you that didnt go to RC wars, G3 was bouncing all over the place...

    firstly ewan G3 was 2.5kg UNDER weight, therefore there wasnt enough weight. Also as explained at the event, we didnt have time to fit the nylon blocks on the back, these stop it going over.

    It just shows you that you dont need HP or a big LP ram to produce a good flipper, for those who havent seen G3:

    probably going FWsmash, going wales, preston, brighton and most others.

    g3 still has a few more things to be done (aswell as those above). Its not yet got a buffer, thats go to be added. we also have to sort the double acting out on the ram. The drive will be ran at 22v instead of the 14.4v that its at now. Also a layer of S Steel to be added around the back.
