awesome, yeah you read correct, just wasn't sure if its 2 pieces of wire soldered at each connection or if it was done differently.

update time, the only things missing are grub screws and a led. other than that im ready to commence the build. just a final few questions (sorry for the annoyance)
1) would a 12v led do and is it best to have just 1 or more?
2) how do people split their wiring as diagrams ive seen show the led splitting off from the battery
3) (sorry for the bad diagram) is this roughly what the wiring should be like?

again sorry for all the questions but rather get it right then expensively wrong
To answer your questions:
1. Depends on the voltage from the batteries. If you are running, say a 18v battery, you'd want 2x 12v LEDs (or 2x 9v) in series so that the voltage across each LED is halved.
2. Do you mean how it is physically split? I tend to expose a bare piece of wire and then solder the end of a wire onto that bare section to make a split and cover that in electrical tape. Not the prettiest method ever but it works. Here is a very basic example of this from my first Antweight which shows this:

3. You wouldn't wire the receiver directly to the LiPo. The ESCs often can power the Receiver itself through the RC wire, though that isn't always the case. In the case of wiring the ESCs (and the ESC for the actuator as well), you'd split it off from the main loom after the LED in your diagram.

Here you go. Missing from that diagram is the radio wires to the receiver. You'd typically cut the red wire on all but one of the radio wires from the ESC to the receiver so that it gets the appropriate voltage (usually around 5v). I should get around to updating this one day.

awesome cheers, so pretty much the receiver is powered by the escs, also my battery is 14.4v will i still need 2 or will 1 suffice?

For safety (and room to expand), I'd go with 2x LEDs

ok, cheers for putting up with my non stop questions
All gotta learn somewhere!Hope to see your creation in an arena one day.
