The link being accessible from both sides rule doesn't apply to featherweights as they are light enough to turn over without any problems. My featherweight Meteorite can run upside down, has a link accessible from the top only & this hasn't been an issue. As long as the link can be removed by hand & out of the way of weapons/drive you'll be fine.
