I've decided to throw my hat in the featherweight ring, and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good ESC? The plan is to just build a simple two wheel wedge.
I plan on running E30-400 motors.

There is the featherTwo by Shakey, but there are programmable ones including hobbywing escs and the good ol TZ85A. Sadly the TZs are discontinued.
Hi all, I am also starting my first build Featherweight, can anyone recommend drive motor size please? Looking at two axles with one motor to each. Also what sort of min speed should I be considering for the robot in the arena?
Many thanks
Drill motors are a good place to start since they come with the gearbox already attached. There are alternatives, such as the Gimson 13.7:1 motors I use in The Honey Badger robots, which are based around the "775" motors, gives decent speed and power for the size.

Would these batteries work?

I'm building a simple wedge and would also like to know if these are ok, would one do it or should I run two or more?
yes but if you are running drill motors about half that capacity would do you fine
assuming your wanting to run these motors for drive - 2 axles, then thats 5.4kg with just the motors not to mention gearboxes
Those are way too big for a FW
