Belts and bottles

Hi guys

Trying to make Loki 3 as compact as possible soooo need some advice. Running four wheel drive with belts and pulleys to drive the front wheels but the buffer tank is in the way. Can I just run the belt around the bottle or will I need a small pulley to take it off the bottle or something else? Going to be tight for weight so the lighter the better!

I was toying with the idea of PTFE belt tensioners. You can buy blocks quite cheaply off ebay

a simple idler such as bearings on a shoulder bolt/bolt and nut to guide the belt around the bottle should do the trick fine, worked for me, an idler pulley would work too but would be a bit more work, could 3D print it or something though

A thin strip of a slippy plastic wrapped around and glued to the buffer would be the lightest weight solution.
