would it be possible to control a tank steer style robot using 4 motors and 4 turnigy esc's if i cant buy high enough rated esc's to have 1 esc controlling each side (each pair of motors ? )
A 4 motor/wheel drive battery drill feather can be controlled with 2 BotBitz TZ85A esc's. Each ESC does 1 side then.
If you want redundancy, you could try the 30A Botbitz. 1 for each motor.

yes the bb tz85a's would be choice but at present they seem to be like hens teeth
Redundancy, keeping fighting even if parts go byebye.
Typhoon used that idea for drive. 2 Vantec's and 4 motors, with the vantecs power left front/right back and visa versa (vantec are 2 channel controllers, like the Wotty)
