Sabertooth 2 x 10 / 12 or whatever they're flogging at the min
Wouldn't recommend the Sabretooths massively, they do just seem to break randomly. Would probably only use them in a competition machine as a last resort, personally.
These wor but only on 2s lipo. You'll need a higher rpm motor than the 1000rpm ones we normally use.
program some ESC yourself, SimonK files around for smaller current ESC
I won a couple of these cheapo Hobbyking Esc's at an event late last year, i'll be using them in a new Beetleweight at some point. They're the same one's that the Kinematic Events PTD robots use and they see some abuse. You can also run them on 3s, again the PTD robots do and they don't seem to have any trouble. http://www.hobbyking.co.uk/hobbyking...d_Car_ESC.html

I've been busing the same sabertooth since 2012. I know that have a reputation for being fragile. They're easier for a new builder to use that programming something else. I like the look of the ESC you linked, might actually buy a couple to try after I cooked the botbitz's.
Can someone please help me I'm massively confused I've bought 1000rpm 12v eBay motors but struggling to find a 3s esc which has reverse. I've I've looked at the 45a esc linked in this post from hobby craft but it's a 2s? Would the 7.4v be enough to power the 1000rpm 12v motor properly? I bought turnigy 20a esc but in my heist I didn't realise there was no reverse. Not looking to spend a fortune if possible. If anyone can help that would be great!
The vex ones are pretty good, need a bit of hacking but it's minimal really. Will have a look for a link unless someone else has them to hand...?
Ah god hacking?! Lol that doesn't sound easy lol
