What armour are you using on your heavyweight? I'm struggling with weight just wondered what you have fitted and how much you think your armour weighs? Ill be using Kelloggs corn flake boxes atm
Fairly standard armour these days is either Hardox or RAEX 3-4mm thick, these are basically types of hard wearing steel. You could look into aluminium but with the power of modern spinners don't expect that to last. Another possible route is HDPE if you are really struggling and are able to support it well enough.
looking up the density of HDPE according to the google machine its 0.97g/cm3. so if my maths is correct a 1m2 sheet 10mm thick weighs
HDPE - 0.97 x 10.00 x 1.0 x 1.0 = 9.7kg
Hardox at 3mm is heavy.
Hardox - 7.75 x 3.0 x 1.0 x 1.0 = 23.25

Right on the money.
HDPE is light, can be worked with woodtools yet cannot be glued, painted or efficiently welded. (welding is possible but the welds are fragile). Discs will easily cut deep gauges in it, but with the lower weight you can add more thickness, reducing the chances of getting punched through. Machines will look more chucky and less sleek because of this though.
If I'm reading your sums right, you are assuming a 1m x 1m sheet at those weights. Those figures seem about right.
