Problem with wiring is have to go on judgement & experience. Current rating of cables are continuous which are a nonsense for what we do. Also cables can operate upto 70deg c for pvc (other compounds can be 90deg or 105deg) so a bit of heat isnt necessarily an issue. I normally use 1.5mm for feathers but it does get warm if you have big drive motors and a spinner.

14awg or 2.5mm is likely to be fine for everything in a feather but 16awg or 1.5mm is likely to be ok for a couple of drills.
