reasonably simple question does anyone use one of these and if so are they any good or are they utter pants

Yeah, we went with the DX6i over the 5e because of the extra feature and programmability. They come in very handy and have many uses that the 5e just doesn't have for not a vast amount more money.

Dx6i is what i use too - unlike the dx5e its got a screen, various model memory so you can have a range of recievers in different robots and its just generally better

I have a dx5e and a dx6i.

Both will do what we need.
BUT:

the dx5e has just one mix setting which isn't all that great. It works mind you but no way of trimming it to your liking.
the dx6i can remember up to 10 receivers and attach preferences to each of them allowing you to switch between machines instantly without having to rebind and set up.

All in all, if you're poor and haven't got a lot of money and won't be building several machines just yet. The dx5e will suffice.
If you're serious and can hold the purchase of another month to save up the diff, GO FOR A DX6i!!!

ok i have got a dx6i is there any guides that are more clearly worded than the manual as thanks to certain issues i cant make out what it says
