Thread: 24v motor controller help

A brake on such a motor is nothing more than a very large area solenoid with brake surfaces.

Bypassing it is not difficult. Supply 24V to the brake seperatly.
It's not even a heavy load, and can be done with even a feeble switch.

thanks for reply. I now have a speed control diagram which may help. I tried just disconnecting 2 brake wires before seeing your post but it made no difference. Could you have a look at pic before i try this to see what you think on how to bypass control panel completley and just run own wiring direct to controller (im sure its control pcb fault and not controller) i just need basic forwards reverse bang bang operation pretty much dont even need speed control.

im mounting my dodgem to the mobility chassis lol no disabled people will use it. Its one big motor that has 4 wires, red black and 2 white. Id rather bypass brake than dismantle motor as i dont feel confident doing that. Wont the speed controller still think that the brake is on though if i bypass stuff? And not allow power to motor. I think its the control panel not telling the speed controller that the brake has been turned off if u get me

Maybe a better description of wiring. Like i say id be happy with forward flat out a d reverse flat out via the steering paddles.
