    Hi guys,
After some opinions; I feel I should try and get a robot together for Maidstone as it is very local and currently don't have a working arena ready robot. I've got a set of dewalt drills that I bought a while ago to use in a robot but never got round to it so am thinking of using them but only have electronize speed controllers!

Do you think the electronize will take a dewalt without producing magic smoke? (There the 30A ones)

I would prefer to use some hacked TX85A but don't really have time to order from Australia, don't suppose anyone has any spares they want to sell?

What model motors are they? Most DeWalt motors can draw huge amounts of current; US builders use 90 to 120A capable controllers with them. The TX85 will also do the job, I think several the builders here in Australia have used them with the DeWalt 18V motors successfully (including the BotBitz guys). Perhaps you can buy a set from Hobbyking and get someone in the UK to reprogram them for you.

It was these ones: DeWalt DC970 18V Drill Driver

Yeah I did think about doing that but time is not on my side. I may just have to see if I have an old pair of Argos drils kicking around

Would be surprised if a 30a Electronize can't handle an 18v dewalt. They are genuine 30a continuous. I have one for sale btw. :P

Thanks for the kind offer dave but I think I'll be alright,
I'll probably use the electronize then and just put in a 25A fuse. If the fuse blows midfight its not the end of the world.
