Yeah heavyweights are fantastic, and I could cobble together some sort of concoction if I was desperate, but I've gained a real appreciation of what it takes to run one never mind be successful. I take my hat off to them. The other thing as well is that the EO's sell their shows based on the heavy turn out, and my work can be hit and miss together with having two kids under 4. I wouldn't be able to commit to the regular event pattern that the EO's need to run the leagues and regular tournements with. With things like the feathers and the ants and the beetles if they catch on, I can build a few robots and involve my 4 yr old in it all and get to events fairly regular. I'm a technician in the day job so this smaller stuff is right up my street skills and tools wise, where as to run a heavy I'd really need a grand behind me and skills I just don't have such as CNC and welding etc.
