The further away from the rotation axis you put it, you'll have to turn down the sensitivity or it will over-correct the smallest movement (think of it like it being on the end of an arm, pivot being far down one end).

Only issue I ever had with the gyro is I turned the sensitivity up too far, and it got 'the shakes'; every minor move sideways, it corrected too much, then corrected back, and so on and so forth. Looked like it was shaking in fear being in the ring with 360 at the time was a coincidence )
