Gaunt picked up The Golden Gun, took it apart into it's individual components and grabbed the box of ammunition that came with it and placed them all in the inside pockets of his jacket.

That had worked out rather well he thought. But it probably wouldn't be enough. Maybe he could try a search for something a bit more strange and bizarre. He still had 6 searches left after all.
