Remember the TZ-85s have a peak rating of 85amps, their constant rating is more like 30amps.

We've done 5 second peak tests on the 85A's at 220amps without them exploding.

And I have run a short Mag motor off a TZ85 - it hardly gets warm.

I've had a TZ85 well above 85A for a longer time as well. It got warm but did not blow.

Just goes to show that before I made the wheels really loose the amp draw must have been fairly astronomical. Warm after a matter of seconds, I'm certain they would have blown after a full intense fight. Do the v1's have a temperature protection?

IIRC, Steve pulled temp protection from production V1's, it was only ever featured in a handful of beta ESC.

    Okay, thanks.

Also, weapon setup is now installed. Belt is pretty tight but if it slackens even a little bit it should be good. Obviously, have no experience w/ belts until the last 36 hours so only a test will tell. :P

Is it a possibility to bore the wheels out to a size so they fit needle roller bearings, then order some from technobots and get them delivered to the UK. Then you've just got to press them into the wheels when you get here?

I did consider fitting bearings but I don't really have time to do so now; the extra machining involved will probably put me over the edge in terms of time. Wobbly wheels it is, for this year.

Also, did a weapon test, the belt is still tight but it did spin up. I worry the standing amp draw is high but it does spin, and even the knackered old Align had no problems starting up. I was careful on the throttle on both spin up and down in the test.

Quick food break and I'll go and install the wedge. Might get to a drive test this evening. Cheers.
