The DX5e does fail safe depending on the receiver that you use. In Endeavour we use a AR500 receiver and it failsafe's perfectly. Also its a good starting point but in the long term its better to go for something like DX6I or Orange T-six that has model memory. I think I'm personally going to replace my DX5E with an Orange in the not so distant future
