Thread: Battery Chargers

  1. #1
    Hi,
    Is there a single charger I could get which would be able to charge a 24V Lead acid battery and also a 3000mAh 6S 30C Lipo Pack (
    http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...po_Pack.html)?

    We've been using the same cruddy SLA charger for years and I think its now time for an upgrade. Was talking to someone (cant remember who now!) about chargers at Gloucester and it seemed like a possibility.

    Cheers,
    James.

    The CellPro 10XP does, not cheap though and you will need a beefy power supply. What SLAs do you run?

    12v 24 ah, something like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CSB-EVH-12...item43ade78d71

    I see, in that case I might just get a charger for the LiPo. I was just wondering if there was one that would do them both before I made that investment.

    24V SLA in a feather?

    Ah, that explains a lot.

    Most affordable chargers like the Imax B6 can charge 1 SLA at the time. So for the cheap solution, charge each battery separate.

    To charge the Lipo.
    Like I wrote, the well known simple Imax B6 can do that job, but with 50W (on 6S that means 2000mAh max) it's an hour to 90 minutes to recharge the battery. I would use my Turnegy 4*6 charger. That one is 100W per channel.

    For charger. A 24Ah needs some juice, so you're looking at a serious one an 200 or even 400W single at least;
    A dual charger is an option. Then you can charge 2 batteries at the same time. But 200 or 400W duals are expensive, and the powersupply ain't cheap either.
