I do think it should be pointy end first.
Maybe i'll switch it round to the pointy end at the champs for a couple of fights just for you Dave, tbh i like the broad end it acts like a hammer and it does actually do damage you just can't see it on the video but it cuts through things quite nicely.
That looks great Sam, an excellent first UK Champs entry. Went and stuck a chain tensioner on Onyx earlier after reading about you adjusting yours to get it to a sweet spot (been meaning to do it for a while but just never bothered) so hopefully we can have a good old whiteboard axe tussle at some point over the course of the event![]()
Thanks Jamie and yeah that would be awesome, it would be great to get all of the axe bots in a fight together
It's now looking as if Hatchet might not make it to GSL, i fully charged the batteries last night ready for a test this morning, plugged everything in as usual and started getting smoke from one of the batteries, i unplugged the link and the batteries, waited for the smoke to stop and tried again, this time no smoke but the robot seemed underpowered and the batteries seemd to drain very quickly. At this point i'm fully discharging and recharging the batteries and trying again but if it happens again Hatchet's out as i have no spare time or money to get any new batteries.
That sucks, was looking a right beast of a machine too... Is there anything you did differently for plugging it in this time? And where was the smoke from?
Nope did everything i usually would, Dave Westons just been on the phone to me and said it might be due to the batteries not being charged the same amount, HOPEFULLY i can get it working
What voltage you running it at?
