Spinner Question

As I'm in the process of building a spinner, I thought that it would be good to ask this question:
Having seen the videos of the 2013 fw champs at gsl, how come LS4, a very powerful and dangerous spinner didn't win the champs or something. Are fbs's not allowed to participate in the actual competition because they are too dangerous????

You watched videos of a FBS competing... then asked if FBS's can compete?

They are allowed, just sometimes even really good robots lose fights.

LS4 hits things so hard it flies out of the arena on a regular basis or turns itself over. NST was the same, it would thump something really hard and fly off in the other direction. Verticals expend most of their energy on the opponent as it forces itself into the ground where as a horizontal only ever achieve half (approximately) as they just push themselves away.
