The Turnigy Accucell will indeed charge A123's, you use the LiFe setting on the charger Sam.
And yes modifying packs isn't difficult, ours are all soldered as Gary says and can be stripped down, reconfigured etc. I would suggest if you want to start playing with packs that you take a look at this.

Clearly you don't need to do quite as much work when you're modifying the packs yourself but it will give you an idea as to what you're doing !
BTW, suddenly loads of interest in the packs, only a couple left.
I should add, that anyone wanting to change the configuration of the packs, I have plenty of heat-shrink that will fit the packs if laid out as .....

if you wanted to make 8 cell packs for example, so long as you have to cells side by side I can throw in some heat-shrink![]()

Terry, between 4 and 6 depending on what people who have expressed an interest in actually buy. I also have around 14 cells packaged and un-used, more than enough to make up some more packs if need.
