If by the flipper you mean Ceros, then it should be a heavy.
Glad to see you reviving Ceros, it was always one of my favorite UK bots. good luck getting it finished.

is there any 3.2mm hardox floating around, looking for ceros body armour panels. If not found a goos source of 4.5mm aluminium chequer plate which would do the trick that should keep out thors hammer !!!
also been trying to find out the density of hardox for weight calculation but cant seem to find it
They don't give a desnity I run it as 8000kg/m^3. Its fractionally lighter but its always good to over estimate a fraction IMO.
when i use online weight calculators for pieces of material i just put stainless steel in as material... its very close on density and comes out right when i actually make what i designed in hardox.
looking for 3.2mm hardox 600x300 ish for the front flipper scoop
optipower lipo batts arrived and look great just spent an hour making the aluminium batt mount assembly, 3mm ali bent into u channel with mounting lugs, planning on using some sort of vibration mounting to the body silicone washers or rubber to help avoid shock. Still deciding on new gearbox design for ease of manufacturing as no longer have access to miller etc
Quick update battery box and mounting system complete mounted at top by springs and 6mm hdpe back allows flex and movement of the box but trapped within an outer frame to avoid coming loose just requires the foam sticking inside, battery fuse box assembly and new power cabling mounted and protected, armour mounts cut and 4mm aluminium plate ordered.
4mm aluminium is thin but all the weight I have left should bend and buckle under thors hammer but hopefully noy split as it should bend first.
gearbox design sorted just waiting on time to weld the mountings up.
test drive hopefully with full armour etc the next 4 weeks
vids and photos to come this weekend pos
Can the manual pressure relief valve be opened using a tool ie, t handle socket
struggling to find and easy access point for the valve handle without removing huge pieces of armour plating
Quick update Ceros back on track Roboteq had a full motor test today and it works !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No gearbox's fitted so not under load but its a start. Also today mounted new removable link, fuse box, battery assy, twin solenoid for burketts and tx in a box.
This sounds really good, is it hard bending the ally?
