i've already asked people of facebook about this but i also want to 2nd opinion asked any one on there, has any one had good or bad experience with Tamco 4 Channel 2.4GHz radio system? the reason is I saw it in a model shop in Norwich at £46.99 which I'm going to use to build some prototype robots with. the reason I 2 opinions is incase people didn't get a chance to the message on facebook.
Hi Jack, welcome to the forum. I have no experience with that particular setup but I will say that a DX5e isn't that much more expensive than that depending on where you get it, and with the availability of cheap (as low as £7) compatible receivers you can get a decent setup fairly cheaply now.
Save and then spend the money to get a decent set first time. You will not be disappointed. I also wouldn't buy from a model shop as they will invariably be more expensive than the net (yes it's a sad fact of our times but that's life)
so would be cheaper to get radio transmitters online on website e.g ebay, technobot etc?
Ebay or Alibaba, you can find rockbottom prices, and even lower than that on the internet.
But be aware of the hidden costs. P&P and/or customs spring to mind. Also, you get what you pay for.
its worth checking at modle shop as we got a dx5 for £45 without the rx
what i'm doing at the moment is i'm building a wooden construction first before buying parts as I want to see how the weaponry will look, how to make a simple interchangeable weapon system. then I will buy other parts to make the prototype to work before the final stage. i'll let you know how i'm getting on soon.
