Well my programming cable arrived from HK (Atmel Atmega Socket Firmware Flashing Tool)
Programmed 3 TZ85a in less than 5 minutes - a breeze compared to soldering on the board

I've tried to set up mixing on my DX6i by following the video but I don't have wingtailmix as an option

not sure why. Anyone got any ideas?

Its in Heli mode. You need to set it to acro mode which will then show the options you need.

I now have the push on connector that Adam had. When I reprogrammed his, he provided a 6-10 pin adapter that allowed the 10-pin plug to plug into the Pololu 6-pin plug and it worked fine. Ever since, I've not managed to get the push on connector method to work. It either would not recognise that there was an ESC connected or, more recently, would cause the ESC to go up in smoke :P (not sure if that was the direct reason)

Using the push on block connector getting 4.4v ok but will not go into program mode any help thanks in advance

If any body going to the gaget show next week who has a programmer or push on block connector will they bring it please these are just for spares

Hi Craig,

The first post in the thread has a components list which has never really changed. It also has the videos which again haven't changed at all either. Only thing that's been updated is the ESC programming software but you can still download and use AVR Studio 4 which is shown in the vids. Its scary the first time you do it but it literally is soldering 6 wires on, plugging it in to a power source and the computer then clicking some buttons.

Hi all.... just wondering if all this is still valid?? I have dx6i and about to order my tz85s from botbits. Just wondering if the software flash is stil needed to work correctly with my transmitter as this post was a few years ago.
