That looks brutal. As a random question, I've noticed a lot of people using the smooth pulleys, is that to provide a bit of ''give'' so that the shock of the impacts doesn't damage the motor?

Yep

It means that when you get a hit the sudden deceleration doesn't reach the motor which can cause severe damage, and its very hard to stall the motor.

Its also useful for spinning down. You can turn off the motor and then the motor can stop while the belt slides on the smooth pulley so you don't get the motor acting as a generator.

Egg Beater runs of a Speed 900 BB Torque

Shrimec is custom... Made with an 18v drill motor with 3x the sets of gears that comes in a normal drill gear box.

Almost done now I fitted a limit switch for the down movement of the selfrighter and its half wired up inside and top ti armour is done.

decided to ditch the ali self righting arm and went for some polycarbonate instead in the hope it'll act as extra springy defence against axes

all it wants now is the internal speed controller case making on the machine at work (as it sits under the drive motors near the weapon!) and outer hardox armour which ill make templates for this week so i can get chopping next weekend!
