Thread: Best way of securing magnets in a bosch 750?

  1. #1
need to secure the magnets in a pair of bosch 750s, but like a plank i went and welded a gear in the end of the shaft on one of the motors so without grinding the weld off and damaging the gear i can't properly take the motor apart.

i sort of no a few ways to go about it but just wondered if anybody had a quick good way of securing them in? mabye even buying some really good glue?

If you want a high strength glue then something like this would do the job

Just make sure that both surfaces are exceptionally clean and that you don't get any on yourself

They were held in with araldite in 13Black, the holes were covered over as well to keep metal filings out. Ran them at 36v without any noticeable problems. We also tack welded the end plates on.

so did you take the magnets out and resecure them back in yourself with the glue? or just kinda apply it to them whilst they were still in the casing? how did you go about doing it?

Actually if you have access to a lathe and mill you can make a ring with castlations that slot into the gaps in between the magnets. Similar idea to the old magnet retaining kits that used to be around. I used this method with a magmotor a few years back in hornet 2

We completely stripped them out and cleaned them up, then glued them back in place on re-assembly.
