Thread: Ampflow E30-150 for a spinner

Oh trust me, there is overkill for a weapon, then therr is using the biggest mag but it was a great price and comes with controller, cost me less than a brushless motor on its own

If we purely go for Advertisment Horsepowers
Hobbyking sells a combination of a 9 HP motor and speedo for less than £350.

I know but I don't trust hobbyking at all... on anything, but I know that it its possible with a brushless motor.

But I know how powerful the Mag motors are, insanely for such a small size.

The disc will be up to speed in less than a second probably; like mine I guess, and have so much torque that it will not just cut but toss opponents as well.

I just hope the mounts are strong otherwise self destruction is a distinct possibility.

As the motor is quite so large, could I get away with going for an increase insted of a reduction?

Overdrive is a distinct possibility provided you have the torque available.

  6. #16
Oh, I'd have thought big overdrive is easily possible, with that much torque.

  7. #17
Think the fact heavies use them for disks, I could go with an increase but then how much?

put it on a 1:2 or 1:3 ratio. The big magmotor is pointless as you will waste so much weight in the motor. Oh and to handle the torque you will need to make sure that you have heavy duty belts or chains to handle it

Mind you back in the day I had hornet 2 on a 1.8kg disc with the mini mag. Worked fine on a 1.5:1 ratio.

For a brushed motor I'd just go with a big solid state relay. Don't bother with a controller as it will fry unless severly oversized.

    Got the relay sorted

Will either go buy some large belts or use some of the same chain that I use in bulldogs drive, got plenty of it
