Not much op an improvement? Without using more CO2 you have an increase of 5%

The speeding up thing I don't fully understand as well, its true that the tip will move faster by placing the cylinder nearer the hinge point, but the added mechanical disadvantage will slow it down...I guess
As the calculation shows, getting it right with a short fat ram is a marked improvement compared to the long stroke ram
