Thread: TS3

Ordering some bits over christmas for it, running on better mounted 18v drills on a 6s lipo with a selfrighter too hopefully!

same sorta shape and design but altered to have a self righter built it.

weighed about 11.75 kg without batteries so a lipo and self righter should be do able!

few pics of TS2 after its fight with NST....

amazed at the power of NST to split 22mm thick Nylon

all it'll need is a bit more hardox in the front area then jobs a gooden! NST got a few good hits on the sides and so did Little Spinner 4 and it took it well

Is that an old drum roll chassis? Looks very much like a jamie design with how tight everything is in there

What about using HDPE for the uprights?

I know its not entirely comparable but with a glancing blow NST shattered my 10mm Nylon base on conker. The only reason it didn't fall apart was a single screw in the middle of the machine.

The rest of the armour was HDPE and it stood up to the hits far better as it could bend and flex a little.

Its looking very promising though! I am more worried about that now than I am about 720!

Yeah, we have used HDPE for our bulkheads and hope the slight flex in everything will help it survive. It certainly helped with being flipped at MMM.

Look forward to seeing what you do with this, man. Very inspiring to see a spinner within our capabilities do so well. Brilliant impacts for a single s900.

Thanks guys, thing about HDPE is as a structural material is it a little soft? i was worred about it mabye bending/warping/ or taking damage easily. I no nylons strong and tough but as mine split its mabye not so good as flexing as i hoped it would be. I'd never use any thing like ali because once thats hit and bent thats it, it'll stay like that. think i may just go for the nylon again but do things a bit different at the front of the robot to make it a little stronger.

god thinking about robots on christmas day, how sads that lol :P

Hey my christmas present to myself is letting myself entertain the idea of a heavy weight Conker with interchangeable 400mm bar spinner and hydraulic crusher :-) So its not that bad.

    Merry Christmas
