I seem to be collecting the 500mm globes now

These are the wheels for the MK2 version of the hamster robot, the wheels are 100mm diameter this is quite large but I wanted the load capacity for the ballast weight up to 10Kg!

It is the bigger 30A 24V speed controller that blew when one of the two drill motors seized a while back.
I think the relays on this one are the 2 black boxes on the left hand side of the board they have something like NAiS ACP131 on them, dose anyone know were I can get these or something to fit.
This stuff is not something I would try but its bust anyway so I may as well have a play.
Got this to try to get the colour scheme right, when the time comes.

Why mecanum wheels? I would've thought either a 3-motor setup with 3 omni wheels, or a 2-motor setup with 2 omni wheels each, would be much more suitable for this sort of thing. I'm not sure mecanum wheels will work properly, if at all, on a non-flat surface, and I'd certainly expect the movement to be less smooth than with omni wheels.
I have been busy sorting out the Omni Wheel robot platform for BB8 Project, as you can see the thing seems to be going OK.
it is great fun to drive even with the awful DX5e I have at the moment. enjoy the video.![]()
The new painted Sledge for Gabriel. this time fitted with a tether.

Under the rules normally, thwack or axle bots don't have to bother with these things as (in this case the hammer) is a part of the main body (because it is bolted directly to the body) of the machine. you don't tether any other panel to the robot do you!
But as Gabriel now swings the 14Lbs sledge head at quite a speed. it is probably just as well.

I think the component is this one any ideas or comments?
Bigger wheels for Gabriel because 800mm just isn't big enough!

I think 3 motors 3 wheels would be better. You'll have 3 point contact (think like a 3 legged stool) which to my mind works a lot better.
But as you say, its all an experience. I really hope you have a lot of fun with this one!
