    Worth considering? https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/mod/ ... for_posts/
Not sure about version compatibilities though

Speaking of new features, are we getting a Wiki?

Can' imagine setting up a Wikia account and allowing people to add content would be too much trouble, I don't want to do it in case there's something else FRA approved in the pipeline.

Give Kane a break! He's already mentioned a like button & the Wiki.

I am sick of people wanting more & more without even giving thanks to those who maintain this neat tidy forum - in their spare time.

I don't really see the point. The forum is fine as it is and i just don't see why it needs a feature like this. if people want then sure why not.

Chill out Ceri, I don't know what you just read but me and PJ weren't criticising at all, just giving food for thought!
Kane's done a fantastic job with this forum and website, kudos to him

Yes, I know you both & I've met PJ in person.(Keen to meet you BTW Ewan) You're not like that.

I just want to get in pre-emptively so this thread not slip into going in that direction.

There's a couple of issues with forum mods
    1. Mods need testing, and many are imperfect
    2. The JFusion plugin for joomla isn't compatible with the ones I've tried so far
It is being worked on but im looking at several options to add this feature

Regarding wikia, we use Joomla which is a CMS capable of similar functionality. We just need some people to write articles, etc. Its just a case of setting up the permissions for the authors so we can keeps tabs to make sure we don't end up with unsuitable content posted on the site. If people are interested, just drop me a mail.

The problem with mods in any software is that when an upgrade is needed (and with forum software to keep your forum safe you need to do that regularly) mods do not always work well with the newer version of the forum software. This can again cause serious delays or in some cases even broken forums after upgrades. Therefore I always try to keep forums as vanilla as possible.
