Thread: Galactus II

  1. #1
First, sorry by my poor English.

Well, after the last robo challenge we get much more experience in combat. Galactus had problems with the floor of arena, the skids were stuck between the junctions of the plates of the floor. /One problem of build/.

We obtained great results with our relation armour/weapon, Galactus had only scratches (less in the fight against Drumroll that galactus had the biggest damage).

Our biggest problem was with the teeth...all broke, the teeth had 10(6mm out)mmX15mmX170mm...with 4mm of of depth in drum, stuck with 4 screws M5. But the termical treatment result in an VERY HARD steel.

Now, Galactus is ready for more one challenge.

With a new drum (with the same diameter 70mm), but with new teeth(with 15mm(9mm out)X25mmX170mm stuck with 4 M8 and a best termical treatment.

The locomotion have now 2 new motors and gearbox, resulting in an more fast drivetrain. Of ~550rpm to ~850rpm, was used a core of the gearbox GR02 24:1 of Gimson.

Now, waiting for the next Robo Challenge...

    Oh, Rabid...Rabid is coming...

Looks really good! Looking forward to fighting it... What's the weight and maximum speed of the drum?

    Hi

~3.5Kg, real 12.000rpm with 4S LiFePo...~2.5s to obtain the maximum rpm.

Thats pretty impressive! slightly heavier then mine, but a tad slower by 1500rpm.... what motor you got on the drum then? Ive found mine gets a tad warm on continuous running.

The normal is that brushless inrunner warm MORE than the outrunner...more normal is when don't exist air in...the unique form of dissipate the hot is by thermal transmission between winding and armour.

Mine warm too, but my motor is stuck with 2 blocks...the transmission of hot is made to the all robot...

For now i use the Turnigy XK4074 1400Kv, but i waiting to put the XK4082 1600Kv.
