Sorry to divert the topic a little but is there any reason why I can't convert an Argos gearbox to 24:1 from 36:1?

You would probably have to replace the planet gear carrier plate and the gears

If you can afford it I would go for a GR02 else use the drill motor and adjust the wheel size to get the speed required

Can't really afford complete motors and I have these HDPE motor mounts which hold two Argos gearboxes in a single unit. Been running 18v motors at 22.2v in them for quite a while and never had a problem. Some more speed would be nice though
