Thread: Timing Pulley Alternatives

  1. #1
Looking at ways to transfer drive from my brushless to the blade, Ali Tmiing Pulleys is the obvious option, but I ideally want something with a shorter profile. The Motor alone is 35mm tall, plus a 15mm pulley gives me 50mm, this just seems too big for a BW.

Anyone know of good alternatives and places for pulleys?

Considering the Brass and Ali pulleys from technobots but unsure how they will deal with the power transfer.

I got mine from HPC gears and there belts can be as thin as 5mm wide

Conker's Alu timing pullys are from technobots and they survived a full on gouging by inertial XL so they are definitely strong enough, if a little heavy...

Well these take 6mm belts (which I snapped a little easily) but still stand 16mm tall.

I guess I need a pulley with no boss. Not dealing with HPC again, any other suppliers out there?

The alternative would be to get a low profile brushless. My only reservations would be I've just bought one that isn't, and I struggled to find one around the 300w mark that was low profile.

That is a good point. I have a spare pulley, I'll try modifying it.
