Charging lipos

Its probably obvious but...
I`ve only just got around to charging my lipo batteries for the second time after getting them along with the charger (GT power Quattro).
I have the balance boards but no leads, should I need other leads? I can`t find them and I`m beginning to think I didn`t need them but the charger just says 'no connection' - and yes I can`t find the charger manual either!
I think plugging the balance boards in and neg/pos leads is all I need to do but I don`t want them to go up in smoke so I thought it wise to get a second opinion.
