has anyone used these before and are they on par with the argos drills or are they a better build quality

haven't used them but they are likely to be the same design/even made at the same factory

ok bought a pair from tescos to check out they seem to be a bit better built that the argos 1s but they have plastic gears cant remember if the argos 1s do or not either way will find a use for them in some project might get a couple more

I'm quite impressed with Argos value drills these days. They've got entirely metal gears and the motor shaft has a flat on it, with a pinion gear that has a matching profile, meaning the gear won't come loose and slip around the motor shaft (a problem I've experienced before). Plus the casing is decent.

Not had a look at the Tesco drills - there are none in my local store - but other value makes such as B&Q's range isn't as good as the Argos drills in my opinion.
