Gimsons are great because

• They are built for fighting robots
  No need to dismantle a drill and throw parts away
  Easy to mount
  Better quality than a cheep drill

However if it is a first robot and you are on a really tight budget the batteries could make the difference. Just remember they would only really be good for a few events then would need replacing so will likely cost more in the long run.
