Thread: Building my own Speed Controllers, Voltage help?

  1. #1
Still going on with that EPQ project, except now I've finally got the money to start it properly this time...

To save a bit of money, I'm building my own Speed Controllers using servos and microswitches, like on this video - , quick question on them -firstly, will it accept 12 Volt cordless drill Motors and Battery, and secondly if so will Tamiya-style connectors be able to be fitted to it, if not what type of battery should I be looking at getting for it?

Thanks in advance, really appreciate it!

Great, thanks for the help !

Don't suppose you know where I'd be able to get 50a rated Microswitches from, and how much they'd cost?

One point of note is that bang bang system won't fail safe.

Orange RX R710 ,though more expensive than most receivers, was designed to failsafe all seven channels. Worth a look.

I believe 30 amp+ micro switches are automotive based. Try a car spares retailer.

Doesn't the 610 failsafe on all channels? Just bought 2 more but yet to test.
