Got a question for everyone...
I was getting close to settling on a design for Conker 3 when I noticed this...
Conker 3 - Drum 3.8kg.jpg
Conker 3 - Whisk 1.8kg.jpg
The drum weighs 3.8kg and has a calculated rotational inertia of 5018448.40 g/square mm.
The whisk weighs just 1.8kg but has an almost identical RI of 4977079.46 g/square mm.
Given the whisk is a while 2kg lighter I could modify the robot to make the whisk wider, ending up with a greater rotational inertia, greater area of contact and I could gear it to spin faster as it weighs less. What do people think.
Note: Both have 20mm of Bite and are the same width; the whisk is just much more efficient with its mass placement.
