Thread: Rukia (FW)

  1. #11
Rukia is up and running. At this point Rukia is 8.9 KG heavy so that means, no steel armour but worry not, that it will have 6mm aluminium armour with a 4mm steel front.

One thing though is that when I was finish test driving her, the grub screw on the wheels came undone.

I need a little bit of help. My fail safe is not activating, It's fine when the robot is not moving but, when moving around, turn off the transmitter it go's into forward gear.

Right now the controls are how I want them, the right stick for moving all directions and the left for the weapon.

The Scorpion XL is set-up like this. The FP/COMM is in the THRO, the LEFT is in the ELEV, the right is in the AILE and last the weapon ESC is in the RUDD.

    I have DX5e with a AR600.

Try unplugging the one in the throttle channel, you should only need the left/right ones connected.

    Still doing the same thing

This is weird, I put right, into the THRO, the fail safe work's but leave's the controls in a mess and, you can put the left in the THRO as well and the fail safe will work. But put the right and left in, the ELEV and AILE, and it will go. FAIL SAFE DO NOT WANT!.

Try recalibrating the XL. I've found in the past that if I calibrate it with all the servo leads plugged in, and then take one out later on, it doesn't behave entirely like it should. So make sure all the servo leads that you are wanting to use are plugged into your receiver, then recalibrate the XL. It may or may not solve the problem, just an idea.

The only other thing I could suggest is that if there is some sort of failsafe setting built in to your tx/rx then it could be wrestling with the XL failsafes, but having not used a DX5e or AR600 I don't know if that's the case.

I'm using M4 countersunk screws. Before you screw them into the plastic, drill a 2mm hole so that the screws will just go in easily and have some direction.

Spektrum Rxs output a false signal on startup, which will throw out your calibration if it calibrates at the same time.
I had this problem with Saberteeth.

Solution? I think I turned the auto calibration off, and just relied on my trims and Rx settings to failsafe.

Well I got my fail safe to work, but the controls are off.

To go forward, I have to point the stick to north east , same go's for the other directions.
