    Drills would be OK,
They'd masacre HDPE, but not all robots use that.
You'd need a really thick drill piece to avoid it snapping, at least 10mm

Axes don't do much damage, they'e just for spectacle. Armours too tough.

Flippers can knock electronics out, and OOTA robots, but can be very expensive.

Rambots are a good start, as a wedge shape to rive under robots, but it would take skill to flip a robot.

Discs are best and masacre all robots, but are only run at robochallenge, and the nearest to us is London in April.

Gripping weapons again are just for spectacle, and I'd imagine heavy.

Thrackbots have electronics inside the wheels, and have a bar as a weapon, like
    stinger-http://robotwars.wikia.com/wiki/Stinger
    and chimera-theres a pic at the bottom-http://robotwars.wikia.com/wiki/Team_Death
The saint- can't find a pic because roaming robots is down, try googling it.
Wilhelms scream could be considered a thrackbot-again can't find the pic

And full body spinners, in which the whole body moves round the base. Again, count as a disc, so can only be run at robochalllenge
    http://robotwars.wikia.com/wiki/Full-body_spinners

Using electricity and fluids etcetera is banned, so don't start building clever ideas without checking the rules first.
