Mouldy: I do try and avoid that if I can help it

Archie: The pits were full of tables already, there wasn't enough room to extend anything else into, so having extending tables like pasting tables would have no effect whatsover. Are we clear ?

Pit space was ridiculous, let's get rid of that massive ptdr that occupied half the room and either the small random arena (not the competition one) or the mini bots. Failing that why not add in overhead lockers for robots and tools to be put in, Then it'll be even more reminiscent of my Ryanair experience.

Just an idea but you could have had both tables so they could be accesed from both sides rather than one backing onto a wall, that wouldn't take out much space from the public side?

Not meaning to sound rude... But your kinda missing the point... Robochallenge didn't have to put on a uk champs, they did it (I'm guessing) to put on a competition for all you guys.... The gadgetshow is a chance for them to advertise what they can do as a company, featherweight combat is only a small portion of the work they do/have done for gadgetshow and I'm grateful they put the work in to make it happen.

The pits were good considering the amount of space they were given.... If you only had an idea of the cost per meter for floor space at the nec on a stand, you'd see it from a better perspective.

    Hi guys

Thank you for all your kind words regarding the event, discussions are already in place to look at the event for next year!

Space is an absolute premium at the gadget show live ( several hundred pounds per sq metre) and so naturally spare space is not going to appear. I did sate this in the event briefing and We really appreciated everyones cooperation regarding pit space. Everyone was allocated a 3ft wide space per robot which was perfectly satisfactory for the event. Regretfully some teams that were not competing still occupied pit space (some teams were given specific consent for this) which took up spaces where competitors needed to be.

Regarding other areas of the Robo Challenge Feature, all the Gadget Show builds that are on display are one of the main reasons we are at the event, and they make a great attraction to the area and provide future potential engineers and roboteers with inspiration.

We already have big plans for next year and are going through discussions as to how we can improve the event if we do it again. In the mean time we really appreciate your support and look forward to seeing your new creations
