have the steel rim go into the aluminium centre more on the opposite side of the tooth. on omen i have a section milled out of the tooth and surrounding area, this could be hard to implement on a rim style disc though.
So it will balance with the opposite tooth profile inside the rim? yes

You will need a bit more than just the equivalent tooth on the inside of the rim because although they would be the same mass, the inner tooth is closer to the pivot and so isnt balanced.
