    I've actually found the XT 'deans' connectors, even though they're cheaper to source than the original deans ultra connectors (http://www.wsdeans.com/products/plugs/index.html), actually perform better both by being able to withstand a greater temperature when soldering and by having the textured surface which is easier to grip when connecting/disconnecting. Sometimes the rip-offs can out-do the originals!

    I just found out the the 3 in the EC3 stands for 3mm connector you also get EC5. Does anyone think these would be good for a removable link?

    £4 for a pack of ten. They've got the ribs but don't have the 'XT' marks on them (not sure if that benefits PJ or Tony more :P ) and the ones that did have the 'XT' marks don't seem to be available on the site any more. Still, they're pretty cheap for the job they do.
