    Amps needed?

Right, I see what you mean now. The motors will try to draw more than that battery can provide, you probably want something sub c, like this:

I use those escs in Eric Jr, they're ok but a bit on the cheaper side of things, if you're on a budget and just looking for something that runs then they can be good. We get away with running them at 14.4v for a little extra speed, if you want to do that you would want to use a battery similar to this:

    Or, 2 of these:

But for a first robot 12v will get you going at least and it is a little bit cheaper too

I don't see the reasoning anymore.

A set of Gimsons, depending on type and wheel, 7.2 - 18V batterypack and go with it.

He started his build long before the Gimsons came out again.

    That is why I wrote.

In any case, I messured el cheapo drillmotors at 100A+ microseconds before these became magic smoke, and I meassured Speed 720 Torque motors with less than 10A stall and had to wait 10 minutes before these became hot to the touch.

i actually like the agros ones, if your seriously tight and dont mind spending the time taking them apart making your own mounts then argos one are good as they cost half the gimson ones

i use 15a esc's with 30a fusus on 18v and their really quick

although, if you can afford it, go for the gimson motors

He already has his motors, and a build diary somewhere if I remember right. As I said, those ESC's will work and from what I can tell from Eric Jr, the ESC last longer than the wheels do at 14.4v, so should do you fine.
