If your regulator is not directly connected to the bottle you will also require a T piece and a 1000psi pressure relief device.

Would I still need this if my system is got a max pressure of up to 1000psi and where could i get one?

So in the instance of a screw in valve you would need to have an on/off valve also and this means you also require the 1000psi pressure relief valve before the regulator.
