Does anyone know of an exact failsafe unit that will work in above system set-up? Every one I buy just makes the motors go crazy when the rc system is activated.

The set-up is dx6i using the built in mixer connecting to a dual-part ar6210 receiver, using the 2 channels splitting off via y leads to the 4 electronize speedos

Will a ar500 receiver work with a dx6i transmitter?
the receiver will work, should failsafe on all channels but not certian because I never tried it with electronize.
I do have some external failsafes that I have used in feathers with electronize and a heavy with a servo/relay switch, worked fine both times. Drop me a PM and I'll let you have them.

These are DSM2 compatible so will work with a DX6i. They also give out no signal when communication with your transmitter is lost, so connecting external failsafes between your receiver and speed controllers should work. Having said that, Electronize 30A controllers should have their own built-in failsafes so technically no external plug-in failsafe would be required.
I tried but when i turn off the Tx with the motors running at full speed, they just keep going! lets hope i get outbidded on the AR500 and ill get one of them. is it basically a cheap version of the AR500?

I think I need to clarify a little; if the receiver gives no output signal, this doesn't necessarily mean that your motors will failsafe correctly upon loss of signal, it just means that you can use external or built-in ESC failsafes. With the Spektrum receivers that only failsafe the throttle channel, you can't use external failsafes (or built-in ESC failsafes) as the other channels continue to give out a signal (I think it's the last known good signal but can't be 100% sure) so that means that any failsafes won't work properly and shut down your motors as they still think they are receiving a valid signal.
The receivers that give no output upon loss of signal trigger the external/built-in failsafes to act as they are no longer receiving a good signal, so if you correctly set your failsafes, then they should shut down the motors. With the orange receiver I use, I tend to have it connected to an ESC with built-in failsafing, but I would use external failsafes if my ESC didn't have one.
