Anyone know how much the Wotty's are costing these days? Looking at the Wotty 180EV or possibly the Wotty 100, though that might be pushing it a bit.

last i heard wottys were £290 for a 180, £360 for a 360 but best to ask Ian. I would go for a wotty over anthing else at the moment. Roboteqs are too expensive to get fixed (~£170), Sidewinders are abit too close to their limits and as far as im aware you still cant get Vantecs fixed.

Why do people use the 360 when the 180 can take 90a?

  5. #15
Because The 360 can take 160 amp

  6. #16
Sidewinders take 80a and people use those

    Yes...Your point is ?

Different motors vary in terms of their power, especially when run on different voltages and put under different loads. People use whatever speed controller is suitable and correctly sized for their system.

With Bosch 750 and a not too fast drive, a Sidewinder does nicely.

I gave the calculation involved for the 400@18V (do not overvolt to 24V, or use a BIG reduction ratio, 25 or more to 1) and 260mm wheels, aiming for 15km/u.
