Also what receiver should I use with the spectrum dx6i transmitter, I know it should failsafe on all channels but I don't know which receiver does that?

I think the Giant one only fail safe's on the throttle channel. At least that's what I believe mine is doing.

The BR600 was purpose built for robots apprently but I'm not sure if they make them anymore

I thought the br600 worked only for the dx6 not the dx6i or the dx5e

The BR6000 (not 600, just to save confusion) I believe will work on transmitters DSM and DSM2, but they are not made anymore so better going with one of the other suggestions.

What the cheapy DSM2 one?

I can get it too failsafe on my Sabertooth by adjusting the trims and fooling the start up auto calibration, but not ideal.
